91 Annual Conference and Dinner 2025: Vision Beyond 30 Years

On 14 June 2025, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Executive MBA Programme (EMBA) hosted its Annual Conference and Dinner at The Henderson, uniting more than 200 programme participants, alumni, faculty, and distinguished guests for an evening of inspiration.

Under the theme Vision Beyond 30 Years: Embracing Changes, Inspiring Futures, the event commenced with a ceremonial toast by Professor Isabella WY Poon, Provost of CUHK, who honoured the programmes enduring legacy in her opening remarks. The evening then unfolded with two thought-provoking panel discussions and an alumni sharing session, offering unique insights on innovation and leadership.

Winning in the evolving environment

Moderated by Mr Calvin Lam (EMBA 2025), the session featured Ms Randy Lai (EMBA 2005), CEO of McDonalds Hong Kong, and Mr Ryan Lai (EMBA 2025), CEO of foodpanda Hong Kong. The speakers delved into strategies for maintaining customer centricity, harnessing platform economics, and driving innovation in a fast-changing market.

Leadership insights for inspiring the youth

Moderated by Dr Yannie Soo (EMBA 2025), this panel brought together Ms Amy Chan (EMBA 2014), Head of Racing Talent Training & Headmistress, Apprentice Jockeys School at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Mr Andy Ann (EMBA 2009), Chairman of NDN Group. They explored cross-generational leadership, emphasising the importance of empathy and creating opportunities for the next youth to thrive.

Stories of resilience and innovation

From the programmes earliest cohorts, Mr Francis Mok (EMBA 1995) and Ms Susanna Chiu (EMBA 1997) shared compelling narratives of perseverance and forward-thinking, manifesting the enduring impact of the 91 community.

The evening was further elevated by captivating performances, including a dance presentation by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the debut of We Are Togetheran original anthem composed by Dr Kenny Kung (EMBA 2025) and performed by the Class of 2025, leaving attendees with heart-warming memories.
